The tread pattern is derived from the Dunlop 3-Stud design, which was popular in the 1920s and early 1930s but became less effective for tarmac by the 1930s. This tyre has an H speed rating of up to 130 mph and is DOT-marked. It is recommended that Dunlop Racing Tyres be used for the best lap times, though the Excelsior Comp H is road-legal and still suitable for vintage racing events. This tyre is FIA and VSCC eligible and offers the look of historical tyres with the security of modern rubber construction.
