Alfa Romeo Duetto Wheels
Alfa Romeo Spider Duetto
Alfa Romeo Duetto Wheels
- Originally, the Alfa Duetto came equipped without wire wheels. However, Borrani does offer a transform kit, so you can fit Borrani wire wheels to your spider.
- Borrani also makes bimetal wheels for Alfa Duetto Spiders. These are available in two varieties: the Turbo Sport, which is a standard bolt-on system, and the Turbo Sprint, which has a centre lock mechanism.
- To equip the Turbo Sprint, you will also need a morph kit to convert your hubs to match the centre lock wheels.
- WARNING – the Bimetal wheel transform kit is different from the wire wheel transform kit.
- The original Alfa Romeo Duetto was equipped with 15-inch wheels and 155 HR 15 PIRELLI CINTURATO ™ CA67 tires, which we believe are the ideal tire for the Duetto.
- Some later Duetto Spider vehicles had 14" wheels, with the 165HR14 PIRELLI CINTURATO ™ CA67 being the tire of choice.
- The Michelin 15E Inner Tube is our top recommendation for inner tubing, or the Michelin 14D Offset Valve Inner Tube if you have the 14" wheels.
Alfa Romeo Duetto Tires
Alfa Romeo Spider Tires
The Alfa Duetto Spider initially used the same tires as the Alfa Giulietta and early Giulia, 155HR15 PIRELLI CINTURATO CA67. These 1950s, 1960s, and 1970s tires have such an evocative design that they are unsurpassed visually. But the reason they are so closely connected with the top-tier Italian sports cars of the time is that they were all equipped with the Cinturato because they were such wonderful tires, which is also why people still install them now.
Alfa Romeo began fitting 14" wheels with either the 165HR14 PIRELLI CINTURATO CA67 or 165 HR 14 Michelin XAS tires around the end of the 1960s. Both tires are amazing. Whereas the Cinturato provides brilliantly progressive sports car handling, the XAS was designed to make sports cars of the period more suitable for highways and dual carriageways.
