Ferrari 250 GT SWB Berlinetta
Ferrari 250 GT SWB Wheels
- For road use The SWB Ferrari 250 GT can fit either RW3591 Borrani Wheel 5.5"x15" or RW3690 Borrani Wheel 6.0"x15". The 5.5" was used more frequently in period.
- For racing, a Ferrari 250 GT SWB on the track wider wheels are recommended. A thinner rim offers lighter steering and a more comfortable ride; ideal for road use. A wider wheel increases the stability of the tire and creates more grip.
- For track use the SWB Ferrari 250 GT can be fitted with RW 3715 Borrani Wheel 6.5"x15" or RW 3808 Borrani Wheel 7.5"x15".

Ferrari 250 GT SWB Tires
- The 185VR15 PIRELLI CINTURATO ™ CA67 was the original equipment tire for 250 GT Berlinetta SWB road vehicles.
- Increasingly in modern times some people prefer to use a bigger 205/70R15 tire on their road cars. It is worth noting that contemporary low-profile tire technology did not exist until 1968 so this size was not original equipment. The 205/70 VR 15 Michelin XWX is an excellent option if you desire wider tires.
- The 205/70 R 15 PIRELLI CINTURATO CN12 is another great option in this size.
- The Ferrari 250 GT Short Wheel Base is typically driven on the track, and for racing, they require 15" Dunlop Racing Tires, however, these are track tires that are not road legal.
- Avon CR6ZZ Tires could also be used on the track. The CR6ZZ is a line of road legal radial racing tires designed for historic performance vehicles. They are all-weather tires built for competition driving in sports like as classic road rallies, track days, and circuit racing. The downside of these tires is they are not period tires, and the tread does not match any historic tire.
- Some 15" CR6ZZ tires have a profile below 70%, such as the 225/60 VR 15 Avon CR6ZZ. We would advise against these tires if you have wire wheels fitted, as wire wheels require innertubes, and tires with a profile below 70% should not fit innertubes.
Ferrari 250 GT SWB Tire Pressure and Innertubes
- Innertubes in the tires are required for wire wheels to function properly. The Michelin 15F is our pick of innertube for these tires.
- Tire pressures are tough to prescribe for cars such as the Short wheelbase Ferrari 250 GT. We could suggest a start with 28 psi front and 33 psi rear for road use, racing tire pressures would be higher. If anyone has any Ferrari 250 GT SWB period tire pressure records, we would love to see them and share the information with Ferrari enthusiasts around the world.
