BMW 1800 Ti History
The BMW 1800 was introduced in September 1963 as the second member of the "Neue Klasse" family. In 1964, BMW introduced the 1800 Ti (Turismo Internazionale) model, featuring components developed by the tuning company Alpina.
The 1800 Ti's upgrades included dual Solex PHH two-barrel side-draft carburettors and higher-compression pistons. An anti-roll bar was also added to the front suspension of the 1800 Ti. The standard BMW 1800 produced 90 horsepower from its overhead camshaft 4-cylinder engine. The 1800 Ti's enhancements, such as the twin Solex carburettor setup and increased compression ratio, resulted in an additional 20 horsepower, leading to a notable increase in performance.
